Hello! I'm Rob, the resident review hobbit here at Hinged.
One of the greatest things about being a modern book lover is the bounty of books available for readers to enjoy! Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Alibris, Peach Pit, and so many more carry thousands upon thousands of titles available right at your fingertips. It's truly an amazing time to be a reader!
Unfortunately, with so many options, it has become more and more difficult to discover and explore authors and books that don't have the exposure, funding, or fan base to be readily found and reviewed. This column is designed to give excellent independent and small press authors an honest, verified review to put out there for their readers.

Hinged Review Policy:
We only review books from self published or small press authors.
There are a lot of really good books out there that don't get seen because they don't have enough real reviews. So, if you know of a great novel or book that you believe needs some attention, send it our way.
Our Reviewers prefer books that can be sent to Amazon devices,
But they are usually agreeable to books published in other formats or on other markets.
We don't put up reviews for our own books.
We offer legitimate and honest reviews for indie and small press authors who need them.
We are happy to trade reviews. Read this first.
We trade reviews with other self published or small press authors or companies on a one for one basis. However we have some ground rules:
1. We give honest reviews. Always. Our reviewers don't take compensation of any sort other than a free copy of the book to be reviewed.
2. We only trade reviews if we can honestly give your book a 6 out of 10 star review or better and receive an honest review with a similar positive rating.
3. You should have a dedicated section of your web site or social media devoted to reviews, and place our book on it. We'll do the same.
4. That being said, you absolutely should contact us for a review. The whole crew loves to read, and we're pretty jazzed to share our thoughts about a good book!
5. We respond to every request, but reading takes time. If you've contacted us and don't receive a response within 15 business days, please email us at info@hinged.net with the subject line '15 days'.
